We invite you to
browse our website to learn more about storm water pollution prevention and
the Decatur Storm Water Departments efforts to reduce water pollution.
Storm water runoff is one of the leading
causes of water pollution
nationally. Together, we can prevent storm water pollution and keep our
communities safe and clean.
The City of Decatur, Indiana has been mandated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to obtain and maintain a permit from the State of
Indiana to minimize the impact to surface water quality from urban
runoff and maintain the City’s storm water management system.
The Storm Water Utility Department was formed
in January 2004 for administrative
services, to maintain this permit, make capital improvements, do
field inspections and increase public awareness on storm water pollution
problems.
To
report any illicit discharge into Decatur's waterways.
