Storm Water runoff is one of the leading
causes of
water pollution
nationally.
The City of Decatur, Indiana has been mandated by the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency to obtain and maintain a permit from the State of
Indiana to minimize the impact to surface water quality from urban
runoff and maintain the City’s storm water management system.
The Storm Water Utility Department was formed
in January 2004 for administrative
services, to maintain this permit, make capital improvements and do
field inspections.
Everyone contributes to storm water pollution problems- everyone must be
a part of the solution.
